Viscose is made from plant-based cellulose, usually wood. The cellulose is chemically dissolved and spun into new fibres. It is therefore an industrially produced cellulose fibre. Viscose fabrics can have a smooth, soft drape and absorb moisture. Our viscose trunk combines 95% viscose with 5% elastane for stretch.

Lyocell is also a regenerated cellulose fibre. The difference lies in the manufacturing process: for Lyocell, the cellulose is dissolved directly in a solvent; in the viscose process, it is chemically converted beforehand. Lyocell can provide a smooth, soft feel. Our BIMONI boxer shorts combine 70% cotton with 30% Lyocell. The exact blend is always stated on the product page.

Cotton is a natural fibre made from the seed hairs of the cotton plant. It absorbs moisture and has a familiar, rather matte feel. How soft, airy or firm the finished fabric feels also depends on the yarn and construction. One example is our 100% cotton checkered boxer shorts.

With our selected polyester fabrics, we value a soft, supple feel and a uniform surface. Shape retention is also important. A suitable fabric construction supports air circulation – in mesh, through the open mesh structure. Polyester can feel very different depending on the yarn, construction and fabric density. The mesh boxer briefs are made from 90% polyester and 10% elastane.

Mesh refers to an open mesh structure, not a specific fibre. A mesh fabric can be made from polyester or nylon, for example. Its openings allow air to pass through and can make the fabric transparent. Material composition and images of the specific product will help you choose the look you want.

Elastane is a highly stretchable fibre. In a blend, it supports stretch and helps the fabric return to its original shape. A higher percentage alone does not determine how comfortably a product fits: the cut, waistband and construction also play a role.

For a familiar cotton feel, look at cotton styles. For a softly draping fabric, our viscose blends are interesting. Cotton with Lyocell combines both types of fibres. If you want an airy, visible mesh look, choose mesh. Always compare the composition, images and fit information of the product.

The care label of the respective product is the most important guide. A cotton blend with an elastic waistband may require different care than pure cotton fabric. Fine mesh styles often benefit from a laundry bag. Close fastenings and avoid rubbing against coarse clothing. The same applies to the care label for tumble drying and ironing.

The percentages indicate the fibres, not the entire construction. Yarn thickness, knit or woven structure, fabric weight and surface finish change the feel, stretch and breathability. That is why we show you real product photos and state the composition for each style.

Low-rise means a low waistband: the waistband sits closer to the hips. This can feel unusual at first and may become more comfortable with some getting used to it. The product should still be comfortable from the start. Use the size chart and the sizing information for the specific style; these can vary depending on the brand and cut.
