The natural base of all Auroshikha incense sticks is sandalwood powder. In addition, ground bark from the Indian laurel (Litsea glutinosa) is used for its excellent adhesive properties.
Depending on the variety, natural resins and ground coconut shell charcoal are also added. The dough made from these ingredients is traditionally hand-rolled onto hand-cut bamboo sticks by home workers and later dipped in fragrant, high-quality essences.
